What is the Sisunanasaea ?

Undergraduates at department of Computing and information Systems (CIS) of Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka (SUSL) has been organized an event called “SISUNENASARA”. The intention of this program is to provide free knowledge to the school children.

This program has already started with thirteen undergraduates of CIS and they have conducted three sessions for around fifty school children that were selected from a school near by the university. The undergraduates were able to verify whether the students gather the knowledge very well, by the direct feedback from the students. With this program the students tend to develop the capabilities of teachers, as the teachers have to teach with new teaching methods that interact with the students and give them knowledge according to their level.

As the ultimate goal of this program is to extend this into an island wide program as a reality show to provide knowledge freely with latest technology like e-learning and as the initial phase the group of 13 undergraduates of CIS experienced about this to build up this program. Additionally the competition between the teachers may help them to find out new teaching methods to the field of education.
